Forest fires are becoming more frequent due to climate change. The last two dry summers in particular have ensured that forest fire fighting has become a central issue in Germany. For more than ten years, LOGIBALL's Navigator has been consistently developed further based on industry-specific requirements and is now available as an app for Android smartphones and tablets specifically for forest firefighting and the forest rescue chain.
The navigation map Forestry with the classified forest roads from Navlog includes both classic road navigation and contents of the forest fire protection map and thus represents an ideal operational tool for forest fire fighting. Destination entry is possible by address, POI (e.g. rescue point), WGS and UTM coordinates, by clicking on the map or also via the interface directly from the control centre. The truck option takes into account the corresponding restrictions in the forest and on the public road.
The additional integration of user POI and line or area geometries, such as a detailed watercourse layer, ensures optimal digitisation of content from the forest fire protection map or other sources.
The software solution is available as an app for Android and for iOS operating systems.
